This stone does not resolve into one colour. Look at it from one angle and it is deep teal, the colour of open water at depth. Shift the view and blue asserts itself through the pavilion, then a yellow-green at the crown, and something almost copper in the table under certain light. The oval brilliant facets carry all of it at once.

1.25 carats. Oval brilliant cut. Unheated. Queensland, Australia origin — the colour complexity is geological, not zoning in the conventional sense, and unique to the basalt gemfields that produce it.

Set in the Ella Trilogy: the centre stone sits elevated within an intertwined basket, flanked by two pear-cut diamonds totalling 0.45 carats. Round prongs replace the standard claw — a softer, more fluid line that echoes the stone's own gentler movement of colour, without giving up any hold on the stone. Open gallery.
